Things you may not know about Eddie Yeary

I’ve been pressing the flesh since 1993 when I began a reluctant apprenticeship under Danny Fowler in Roanoke, Va. Armed with a formal art education and an empty pocket, I had to make a choice: air brush t-shirts forever or eat. After answering a help wanted sign, I signed on with Danny at Ancient Art.

Seventeen years, over 40 awards and a three quarter sleeve of my own later, I’ve set off on a new course in a different location.

Cherry Bomb is the beginning of the next chapter in my tattooing career and I’m excited about the new opportunities that have opened up for me. I have completed various custom paint jobs on cycle tanks and helmets, but I am first and foremost a tattoo artist. My work is diverse ranging from tribal to old-school to permanent cosmetics (eyebrows and eyeliner). I have continued to pursue realism in my own work, whether its color or black and grey, and I relish the challenge of portraiture.

My own personal ink collection includes a patriotic piece by Brian Kennedy, influenced in part by my grandfather who served in WWII, and the latest acquisition of several bumblebees on my lower leg, courtesy of artist Rodney Raines.

I'm still an avid airbrush artist; some of my work hangs in the Tattoo Art Studio in Albuquerque, owned by Brian Everett and friends. If you think I can help you out with your latest tattoo or airbrush project then please give me a call on 540-871-0917 or simply call the shop 540-489-3488

Total Fan

I am a total fan of Eddie's work.  I am fortunate to have 2 pieces on me that he had done.  Early early years 1994 as an anklett and then in 04 piece that was a 2 years work in progress working with Eddie.  He was a totally wonderful professional and accomodated me on my many visits and artistic input to the design he was creating for me.  I was tickled to see it on page 37 of the "early years"!  What an experience it was to say the least.

I am currently working on a new design in my mind and would love to get in contact again with Eddie for him to do a 3rd piece on me!  I am very pleased with his work and artistry and would never think of going to anybody else for my body art!

Beautiful workmanship, wonderful soul and all around awsome human being!

I have one of Eddie's tats

I have one of Eddie's tats from something like 1998 or 99?  I cannot remember exactly.  Actually, it is not at all original...first tat and scared of getting something I would grow tired of.  I remember very cleary my visit though.  Eddie did a great job!  I have admired his work for many years on my friend, Shannon and just got his new shop information from him.  I am planning on viviting the Cherry Bomb very soon for a much more original piece if he is interested.  I really enjoyed checking out your work here on you webpage.  Good luck Eddie!  I now know where to send everyone when they ask me about artists.  I have been recommending you to friends and family for years!

Eddie carved a tat on for me

Eddie carved a tat on for me several years ago and every time someone looks at it they want to know who the artist is and where he is located. I am still impressed with it every time I look at it and hope to see Eddie for another one soon.
